Plymouth

Mark Merry—A Plymouth Mortgage Banker You Can Trust!

With 12 years’ experience as a Mortgage Banker, I completely understand the home buying process from start to close. I service Plymouth and the greater Minneapolis area.

Plymouth is one of the fastest growing communities in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Its strategic location, lakes, diverse housing stock and park system continue to attract new residents and businesses. Plymouth covers about 36 square miles. It is home to nearly 66,000 people and more than 51,000 jobs. Insurance, high-tech research, light manufacturing, printing and publishing, telecommunications and computer-related industries are among the major employers in the city.

Located ten miles northwest of downtown Minneapolis, Plymouth offers residents and business people a strategic location. With Interstate 494 running north to south through the center of the city, Hwy. 55 bisecting the city east to west and Hwy. 169 running along the eastern border, people who live and work in Plymouth have easy access to Minneapolis, St. Paul and area suburbs.

Average home sale prices are above $200,000; median household income is above $50,000/year; and quite a few of the Plymouth dwellers earn over $75,000/year.

It's an "upscale" place, but pleasant with nearly 70 miles of trails connecting parks, schools, shopping areas and neighborhoods. There are also 38 parks and recreational places. These include French Regional Park, consciously designed as a child's adventure with its jungle gym ropes and cargo nets, great hide-and-go-seek grounds and slithering slides. Baker Park Reserve with a nice beach and expansive picnicking grounds and Lake Independence for swimming and water-skiing is just next door in Maple Plain.

Out on the edges of Plymouth you may even find a place to board a horse or two. Riding around out there on horseback takes us back to the days of the early residents, the Wahpeton Sioux who camped near the north end of the large Medicine Lake, one of 12 lakes in the city.

Plymouth has also become a haven for businesses: large, small and medium-sized. Check out the impressive encampment of office parks and the big industrial zone off Highway 55, just west of Highway 494. Corporate powers that have recently landed in the city include: Prudential Insurance Co., Carlson Companies, Control Data Corp. and U.S. West Communications.

School Districts
Four highly regarded school districts serve Plymouth - Wayzata District 284, Robbinsdale District 281, Osseo District 279 and Hopkins District 270. The majority of the City (western and southern areas) is served by Wayzata Schools. Robbinsdale Schools serve the east-central area of Plymouth. The Osseo District includes the northeast area and Hopkins includes the southeast corner of Plymouth.
